The MCHS mission is to end animal homelessness through education, outreach, and adoption, while saving lives and supporting the bond between pets and their families. We believe in being humane together to ensure every animal receives the care and love they deserve.
Founded in our community, we are a private, independent 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization. Since becoming fully independent in 2014, we have remained dedicated to rescuing cats, dogs, puppies, and kittens, providing them with a safe haven while they await their forever homes.
Our work is made possible through your support and the dedication of our staff and volunteers. Beyond adoption, we offer vital services including Hanna’s Clinic for affordable vaccinations and spay/neuter services, a pet food pantry for those experiencing hard times, and micro-chipping to help keep pets safe. We also maintain the Aspin Hill Memorial Park, honoring the special bond between people and their beloved pets.
Adoption is a joyful commitment, and we work hard to ensure every pet finds the best possible match for their needs and personality. Our team reviews applications to create successful, lasting relationships between pets and their new families. Because we impose no time limits on our animals, we are able to provide every pet with the time and care they need to find their perfect home.
Are you ready to find your new best friend? We invite you to explore our available pets online or visit us in Rockville to meet our adoptable residents. Together, we can continue to create hopeful outcomes for every animal in our care.
