Our Mission
MetroWest Humane Society is a passionate advocate for animal welfare, dedicated to improving the well-being of cats in the Metrowest Boston area. We strive to find loving homes for every cat in our care while educating our community and reducing the feral and stray population.
Half a Century of Care
Founded in 1976 by a group of devoted animal lovers, our organization has evolved from a small home-based initiative into a pillar of the community. For 50 years, we have remained committed to providing life-long care for cats that need a second chance, growing from an attic rescue into the specialized facility we operate today in Ashland.
Our Care Model
As a volunteer-led, no-kill shelter, we provide food, medical care, and a safe environment for over 70 cats at our main shelter, alongside a network of dedicated foster care providers. We believe every animal deserves a healthy, happy life, and our facility features specialized areas—including isolation, kitten, and sanctuary rooms—to ensure each cat’s unique needs are met. Our work is powered by the heart and dedication of our volunteers who provide constant love and attention until our cats find their forever families.
