Franklin County Sheriffs Office Regional Shelter
Our Mission
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office Regional Dog Shelter is dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of stray, lost, and unwanted dogs. We strive to provide a safe, welcoming environment while finding the home best suited for every animal in our care.
Our History
We opened our doors in 2012 to address an unmet community need for a dedicated space to house and care for dogs in Franklin County. To ensure our sustainability, the non-profit Friends of the Franklin County Regional Dog Shelter, Inc. was established to provide essential fundraising support for our vital services.
Our Care Model
We are a team led by Shelter Director Leslee Colucci, and we operate under the belief that dogs should thrive, not just survive, while in our care. We model our daily services after a day care center, focusing on individualized attention, enrichment, and the recovery of confidence. Our goal is to ensure that every dog remains happy and healthy while they await their forever families.
The Adopter Connection
We believe in the power of the human-animal bond and work diligently to restore joy to both our dogs and the humans who give them homes. Because we focus on individualized care, we are committed to finding the perfect match between our dogs and their new companions. We invite you to join us in this mission by meeting our wonderful residents.
