Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of companion animals in need. Our motto, to do no harm, in thought or deed, to any living creature, guides every life we touch.
Our Story
Founded as a nonprofit in 1999, our organization was built on the principle of ahimsa—a word meaning compassion and non-violence. We serve our community by providing care for abused, abandoned, homeless, and unwanted animals, ensuring every penny raised goes directly to their wellbeing.
How We Operate
We are an all-volunteer organization operating with a deep commitment to our rescue pets. While we maintain shelter facilities in Templeton and Winchendon, we also collaborate with local partners like PetSmart in Leominster to increase visibility for the cats in our care. Our volunteers handle everything from daily feeding and cleaning to providing medical support, ensuring our residents are healthy and ready for their next chapter.
