The Humane Society of Bay County is dedicated to saving and protecting animal lives through education, advocacy, and social change. We work daily to strengthen the vital bond between humans and animals, ensuring every pet has a future filled with love.
Founded in November 1984 by a group of compassionate citizens, our organization was created to address a critical need for animal advocacy in our community. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, solely donor-funded, and operate as a separate entity from Bay County Animal Services.
As a foster-based rescue, we rely on the commitment of our community to provide safe havens for animals in need. Our programs include comprehensive veterinary care, sterilization services, and our dedicated Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) efforts to help community cats thrive. Whether an animal is in a foster home or at our cattery, they receive the medical attention and support they need while waiting for their perfect match.
We believe that adopting a pet is a life-changing, joyful decision. We work tirelessly to ensure each animal is matched with the right family, providing guidance and support to make the transition into your home a success. Our goal is to create long-lasting, happy partnerships where both you and your new companion can flourish together.
You can change a life today by choosing to adopt, foster, or donate. We invite you to view our adoptable pets online or reach out to our team at our Bay City office to learn more about how you can join us in our mission. Together, we can provide every animal with the second chance they deserve.
