Our Mission

The Humane Society of St. Clair County/SNAP is dedicated to ending pet overpopulation through affordable spay/neuter services and community education for responsible pet ownership. We are committed to reducing the number of homeless pets in St. Clair County while connecting animals with loving families.

Our Story and Purpose

Since we opened in 2013, our team has performed over 41,000 surgeries to help pets live longer, happier lives. We believe that by providing low-cost, accessible care, we can empower every family to choose responsible ownership and significantly reduce the strain on local shelters.

How We Help

At the heart of our mission is our dedicated spay/neuter program, which serves as a foundation for community animal welfare. Beyond medical services, we facilitate a compassionate rescue and adoption process designed to ensure every pet finds a permanent, loving home. We also champion Trap, Neuter, Return (TNR) initiatives to manage community cat health and populations effectively.

The Adoption Connection

We view adoption as a lifelong promise of care, and our process is designed to create a beautiful, lasting bond between you and your new companion. By getting to know your unique lifestyle and home environment, our team works to find the perfect match for your family. We are here to support you throughout this journey, ensuring both you and your new pet are prepared for a wonderful life together.

Whether you are looking to adopt a new family member or wish to support our mission, we invite you to connect with us.
