Adopt a Friend for Life is dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation while striving to build lifelong, enriching friendships through the human-animal bond. We focus on rescuing stray, abandoned, and homeless cats and dogs, giving them the second chance they deserve.
Founded in February 2005, our all-volunteer organization serves the Southwest Michigan community with a deep commitment to animal welfare. We recognized the need for a compassionate alternative to traditional shelters, and for nearly two decades, we have worked tirelessly to provide stability and care to animals in need.
Unlike traditional facilities, we operate through a dedicated network of foster homes, which allows our animals to thrive in a loving, home-like environment while awaiting adoption. We provide all necessary food, equipment, and veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgeries and vaccinations, ensuring every pet is ready for their new family. This foster-based model helps us learn each animal's personality, making it easier to facilitate the perfect match.
Bringing a previously homeless pet into your home is a rewarding experience that creates a bond lasting for years to come. We are committed to transparency and thoughtful matching, ensuring that each adoption is a successful, long-term commitment for both the pet and the adopter. We believe that when you adopt a friend, you are not just getting a pet—you are gaining a loyal family member.
Are you ready to welcome a new companion into your life? We invite you to browse our current list of adoptable dogs and cats on our website or visit us at one of our upcoming adoption events. Together, we can help you find the perfect friend to complete your family.
