Chippewa County Animal Control Shelter
A Dedicated Haven for Our Animal Friends
The Chippewa County Animal Shelter & Dog Park is committed to providing essential care and support for animals in need throughout our community. We strive to be a reliable resource for pet owners and a safe harbor for the animals that come through our doors.
Our Mission of Care
Our facility serves as a vital hub for animal welfare in Chippewa County, focusing on the well-being of sick, injured, and abandoned animals. By managing a shelter environment and offering resources like spay and neuter assistance, we work to address pet overpopulation and ensure every animal receives the attention they deserve.
How We Operate
Located at 3660 South Mackinac Trail in Sault Ste. Marie, we provide a structured shelter environment dedicated to animal safety and health. We rely on the support of our community through licensing fees and donations to maintain our operations and continue our daily efforts to protect local pets.
Connecting You with a New Best Friend
Adoption is a wonderful journey, and we are here to help you find the perfect match for your family. We encourage potential adopters to browse our available animals and consider the rewarding experience of providing a forever home to a dog or cat in need of a second chance.
Visit and Connect
We invite you to view our adoptable animals online or visit us during our operating hours, Monday through Saturday. You can also support our mission by donating or applying to enjoy our community dog park. We look forward to meeting you and helping you start a new chapter with a companion from our shelter.
