Mackinac County Animal Shelter
Connecting Pets and People
The Mackinac County Animal Shelter is dedicated to the care and placement of animals in need, serving our community through compassionate shelter and support. We believe that every pet deserves a safe, loving environment while they await their forever home.
Our Commitment to the Community
Operating as a vital department within Mackinac County, our mission is built upon a foundation of local service and animal welfare. We work closely with our community to maintain the health and safety of our local animals, ensuring they receive the professional care they require until they are matched with their new families.
How We Care for Our Animals
Located on Cheeseman Road in St. Ignace, our facility serves as a dedicated hub for animal care under the management of Shannon Becker. We prioritize a safe, clean, and organized environment for all our residents, operating daily to provide consistent care and administrative oversight. Our team ensures that each animal in our charge is managed with the respect and attention they deserve while awaiting adoption.
The Joy of Adoption
Adoption is a wonderful way to bring a new companion into your life, and we are here to make that process as smooth and positive as possible. We encourage potential adopters to connect with our team through a personalized appointment process, allowing us to focus our time and energy on finding the right match for you and your future pet. We view each adoption as a partnership, helping you welcome a new, healthy member into your family.
