Our Story
Founded in January 1982 by a passionate group of animal advocates, we began as the Humane Society of Polk. In April 2022, we officially became Scruffy Tails Humane Society, reflecting our growth and our ongoing dedication to being a friendly, inviting resource for our community in Crookston, MN.

As a no-kill shelter recognized by the Best Friends Network, we prioritize the physical and emotional health of every dog and cat that comes through our doors.
