Windmill Animal Rescue
Our Mission
Windmill Animal Rescue is a passionate team of volunteers committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding forever homes for animals in need. We are dedicated to nurturing each cat that enters our care, ensuring they receive the love and medical support they deserve.
A Legacy of Compassion
Our journey began in 1990 when a group of children in New Market, Minnesota, stepped up to help a stray mother cat. What started as a grassroots effort officially grew into our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2003 under the leadership of Toni Maat.
How We Provide Care
We serve the communities of Farmington, Lakeville, New Prague, Shakopee, Credit River, and beyond. Our operations combine an on-site shelter located at Windmill Feed & Pet Supply with a dedicated network of foster providers who offer a nurturing home environment for our cats until they are ready for adoption.
The Perfect Match
Our goal is to create the perfect, permanent bond between our cats and their new families. We take great care to consider each cat’s unique temperament, energy levels, and personality to ensure a successful, lifetime placement. We believe that when you are willing to wait for the right companion, the connection is well worth the time.
