Our mission is simple yet powerful: we are here to connect animals in need with people who care. We envision a future where every animal in the Twin Cities and beyond is safe, loved, and properly cared for.
Founded in 1989, the Carver Scott Humane Society—also known as Sota Saves—has spent decades serving our community. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to providing refuge and medical care to animals while working collaboratively with our partners to make a meaningful difference.
We operate as a foster-based rescue, which means our animals thrive in caring home environments rather than just a facility. By leaning on our network of dedicated foster families, we are able to save more animals, including those transferring from high-volume impounds and shelters. This model allows us to provide a personalized, supportive transition for every pet in our care.
We believe in approaching adoptions from a place of yes. Rather than relying on rigorous, rigid applications, we use conversation-based methods to help match the right person to the right pet. Our team is committed to lowering barriers so that good people can adopt good pets and build lifelong, joyful partnerships.
