La Crescent Animal Rescue
Our Mission
La Crescent Animal Rescue exists to protect and improve the lives of cats and dogs through rescue, adoption, compassionate care, education, and community partnerships. We are dedicated to a future where every companion animal is protected, cared for, and cherished as part of a loving family.
Our Story
Established in 2005, La Crescent Animal Rescue (LAR) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization serving our community in La Crescent, Minnesota. For nearly two decades, we have relied on the generosity of our supporters and a passionate team of volunteers to provide the best care for animals in need.
Our Care Model
As a no-kill rescue shelter, we strive to provide a safe and healthy environment for our animals. While we maintain a shelter facility, we place many of our dogs into foster homes to ensure they experience a stable, home-like atmosphere while waiting for their forever families. Our cats enjoy a free-range environment, allowing them comfort and social time until they are ready to head home.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe every animal deserves a home that fits their unique personality and needs. Our adoption process is designed to create lasting partnerships by reviewing applications carefully, often using a team-based approach to ensure the best possible placement for both the pet and your family. We are here to support you throughout this transition, ensuring you feel confident in your new companionship.
