Headwaters Animal Shelter
Our Mission
At Headwaters Animal Shelter, our mission is to improve the quality of life for companion animals. We work tirelessly to secure suitable homes for homeless pets, prevent cruelty, and assist in reuniting lost companions with their families.
Why We Exist
Located in Park Rapids, Minnesota, we serve as a dedicated resource for our community’s animals. We believe that every neglected, abused, or abandoned companion deserves a second chance at a wonderful life, and we rely on the generosity and dedication of our supporters to keep our doors open.
Our Care Model
We operate a physical shelter facility that is supported by a robust foster care program. Our foster homes provide essential care for animals who are sick, injured, or too young to thrive in a traditional shelter environment, while also allowing us to better understand each pet's personality in a true home setting.
Your Adoption Journey
Adopting a pet is a joyous, life-changing experience that turns a shelter animal into a beloved family member. We are committed to helping you find the perfect match, ensuring that your new friendship is built on a foundation of mutual happiness and commitment.
Join Our Community
We invite you to explore our available cats and dogs to find your new best friend. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer your time, or become a member, your involvement helps us build a brighter future for the companion animals in our care.
