The Babinski Foundation is dedicated to rescuing and restoring abandoned and stray animals, providing each with a vital opportunity for a new life and a loving home through dedicated adoption and community education.
Founded in 2010 by Donald and Elizabeth Babinski, our organization was built on a heartfelt dream to create a sanctuary for animals in need. Though our founders have passed, their legacy lives on through the continued hard work of their family and friends who operate our Pequot Lakes, MN facility, keeping their compassionate vision thriving today.
We serve as a private 501(c)(3) animal shelter and a designated stray drop-off facility, providing a safe harbor for cats and dogs in our community. Beyond the shelter walls, we actively engage in community outreach, including youth education programs, microchip clinics, and specialized initiatives like our K9 Connection training partnership.
We believe that every animal deserves the perfect match, and we are committed to making that connection joyful and successful. By providing animals with enrichment, socialization opportunities, and even cozy sleepovers with volunteers, we gain deep insights into their personalities to help you find your ideal companion.
Whether you are looking to bring home a new best friend, interested in volunteering, or simply want to support our mission, we invite you to connect with us. Visit our adoptable animals page to start your journey, or contact us to schedule a visit at our Pequot Lakes shelter today.
