Jackson County Animal Shelter

Our Mission

At the Jackson County Animal Shelter, our mission is to provide compassionate care for animals in need while helping them find their perfect, loving forever homes. We are dedicated to the welfare of every dog and cat that comes through our doors, ensuring they receive the attention and respect they deserve.

Serving Our Community

Operating out of our facility in Gautier, Mississippi, we serve the residents of Jackson County by addressing the serious issue of animal overpopulation. We strive to improve public safety and animal welfare through strategic management, community outreach, and providing a clean, safe environment for animals awaiting adoption.

How We Care

Our shelter functions as a dedicated hub for animal rescue and support, utilizing both our physical location on Audubon Lane and a network of foster parents. Fostering is a vital part of our program, allowing animals who are too young, sick, or in need of special TLC to flourish in a home environment before they are ready for adoption. Whether in a kennel or a foster home, our staff and volunteers work tirelessly to socialize every animal, preparing them for a successful transition to life with a new family.

Your Partner in Adoption

Adoption is a joyful commitment, and we believe in making thoughtful matches that ensure a lifetime of happiness for both you and your new pet. Our adoption fee includes a free health exam, initial vaccinations, preventative worming, and spaying or neutering, giving your new companion the best possible start.
