The Leflore County Humane Society is dedicated to helping cats and dogs in crisis by providing protection, shelter, food, medical care, and above all, the love they deserve. We are committed to changing their futures and guiding them toward a world of hope and a forever loving home.
Since our founding by Madeline Clark in 1971, we have served as an essential institution for Greenwood and the surrounding Leflore County area. As a non-profit organization, we remain steadfast in our humanitarian duty to support the animals in our community that need us most.
Operating as a dedicated shelter, our team works daily to provide a safe, nurturing environment for our rescues. We ensure that every animal receives essential medical attention, including spaying or neutering, the first round of vaccinations, and necessary worming before finding their new family.
We believe that every adoption is a meaningful partnership between a pet and their new owner. Our thoughtful adoption process ensures that each pet is matched with a home that can meet their needs, including requirements for proper fencing and indoor care. Because we care deeply about the long-term well-being of our rescues, we provide ongoing support and guidance to help our adopters and their new companions succeed together.
We invite you to come visit us at our facility Monday through Friday, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, to meet the wonderful animals currently waiting for their fur-ever homes. You can also explore our available pets online or contact us at 662-458-1469 to learn more about how you can open your heart to a new companion. We are always grateful for the community support that makes our life-saving work possible.
