Tupelo-Lee Humane Society

Our Mission

The Tupelo-Lee Humane Society is dedicated to promoting the humane treatment of animals, preventing cruelty, providing education, and ending pet overpopulation in Lee County and surrounding areas.

Our Story

Founded in 1979, our organization began as an effort to provide lifesaving adoption services for animals in the city shelter. Over 40 years later, we have significantly expanded our programs to meet the evolving needs of our community, eventually moving into our custom-designed facility on Cliff Gookin Blvd in 2018.

How We Help

We operate with a commitment to compassionate care, utilizing a range of lifesaving programs including local and out-of-state adoptions, foster promotion, and volunteer initiatives. Our team is supported by a dedicated medical department and a low-cost spay and neuter clinic to ensure we can provide the best possible outcomes for every animal in our care.

Your Partner in Adoption

We believe that adoption should be simple, supportive, and successful, which is why we utilize a matchmaking-based approach to help you find a pet that truly fits your lifestyle and home. Rather than relying on breed assumptions, we focus on the unique personality of each individual animal to ensure a long-lasting, joyful connection for your family.

Start Your Journey

Every adoption saves a life and opens a spot for another animal in need. We invite you to view our adoptable pets online or visit us in person to meet your new best friend and experience the difference our community-focused approach can make.
