The Northeast Missouri Humane Society is a community of animal lovers dedicated to creating a bright, loving future for every animal. We strive to provide a network of service for the lost or homeless while working to prevent neglect, abuse, and overpopulation.
Since 1966, we have been committed to investing our expertise and resources to better the lives of animals in our region. Today, we proudly serve pets and people across five counties, including Marion, Ralls, Monroe, Shelby, and Lewis, by acting as a compassionate advocate for those without a voice.
Operating from our facility in Hannibal, we care for nearly 2,000 homeless pets annually. We believe in providing a safe, temporary home for these animals, and we are proud to say that we do not euthanize adoptable animals nor do we impose a time limit on their stay with us. We are funded solely by the generosity of our supporters, including donations and memberships, and we operate as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
Every animal in our care deserves a forever home, and our board and staff work tirelessly to make that happen. By choosing to adopt, foster, or volunteer, you become a vital part of our mission to ensure a lifetime of loving care. We take our responsibility to our animals and our community very seriously, and we are incredibly grateful for the support that makes our work possible.
Whether you are ready to find a new companion or simply want to lend a helping hand, there are many ways to connect with us.
