Kansas City Pet Project - Zona Rosa
Our Mission
KC Pet Project is dedicated to building a more compassionate and safe community for pets and people. We are committed to providing a second chance to over 16,000 animals in need every year.
Our History
Founded in 2011 by devoted animal advocates, we set out to create a better future for Kansas City’s shelter animals. Since taking over operations in 2012, we have proudly maintained our status as a No-Kill shelter, ensuring that we prioritize the health and well-being of every pet that enters our care.
How We Help
We believe that pets belong with their families, which is why we provide services ranging from pet support and rehoming assistance to our Keep ‘Em Together, KC program. As the largest and only open-admission shelter in the metro area, we provide a safe refuge to animals regardless of their health, age, breed, or temperament. We rely on a vast network of support including our adoption centers, foster homes, and community partners to provide the best care possible.
Your Role in Our Mission
We don’t believe in blanket rules; our goal is to find the perfect pet for your unique lifestyle and family. By choosing to adopt, you are becoming a vital part of our lifesaving mission and giving a deserving animal the loving home they have been waiting for. We provide support every step of the way, ensuring that your adoption experience is positive and rewarding.
