Moberly Animal Shelter and Animal Control

Welcome to the Moberly Animal Shelter and Animal Control, where we proudly serve the City of Moberly by providing compassionate care for animals in need. Our mission is to create a safe haven for strays who have been injured, abandoned, or left hungry, offering them food, shelter, veterinary care, and, most importantly, love and compassion. At our shelter, we have dual responsibilities as both a refuge for animals and a dedicated animal control division. We ensure the enforcement of city ordinances regarding animal welfare, including taking reports of abuse, neglect, and stray animals. Our commitment to animal care means we house dogs of various backgrounds, striving to provide them with comfortable, nurturing environments until they can find loving homes. We firmly believe in the importance of spaying and neutering to combat overpopulation and the suffering of unwanted animals. As part of our initiatives, we actively promote animal adoptions and strive to place our adoptable dogs into caring families. We understand that our community plays a vital role in reducing the number of homeless pets. However, it is essential to note that we do not accept owner surrenders, and we focus exclusively on dogs; thus, we do not provide services for cats or wildlife. We encourage pet owners to take responsibility for their animals, even in difficult circumstances, and to explore the various resources we provide for rehoming pets and managing end-of-life care. Your involvement is crucial to our mission—whether through adopting a dog, fostering an animal, or making a donation. Every little bit helps us continue our work in rescuing, caring for, and finding new homes for these deserving companions. Explore our site for more information about adopting, donating, or volunteering, and be a part of the solution to animal welfare in Moberly. We invite you to connect with us and discover how you can help make a difference in the lives of our four-legged friends. Together, we can create a community where all animals are cherished and have the life they deserve!
