Midwest Animal Resq
Our Mission
Midwest Animal ResQ (MARQ) is dedicated to completing families one tail at a time. We believe in the power of second chances and are committed to making the perfect match between our rescued animals and their new, loving homes.
Our Story
Founded in 2009 as a small, foster-based group, we began by focusing on saving dogs from inhumane conditions at large-scale breeding facilities. While those roots remain close to our hearts, we have grown significantly to serve animals throughout the greater Kansas City area, providing support for dogs, cats, and other pets in need.
Our Foster-Based Approach
At MARQ, we believe that shelter environments can be stressful, which is why our incredible network of volunteers opens their hearts and homes to provide individualized care. Fostering allows our animals to develop better socialization skills in a comfortable home environment while our volunteers learn their unique personalities. All veterinary care for these animals is covered by our organization, ensuring every pet receives the support they need while they wait for their forever families.
The Perfect Match
We are just as passionate about people as we are about pets, and we take the time to get to know both to ensure a wonderful adoption experience. To help everyone settle in, all our adult animals go home with a 30-day trial period to ensure a happy, lifelong fit. We are fully committed to the well-being of our animals and our adopters, focusing on the quality of life for every individual in our care.
