Stover Animal Rescue (SAR) is dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and healthy environment for needy pets while striving to set the standard for compassionate treatment through rescue, training, and education. We believe every animal deserves a chance to thrive as they wait for their forever family.
Our Story
Founded in 2005 by lifelong animal advocate Carol Sue Weigel, our organization serves as a rural, no-kill nonprofit in central Missouri. We take in stray, abandoned, and abused animals as space and resources allow, working tirelessly to ensure they receive high-quality care.
How We Operate
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we are powered entirely by the hard work of our dedicated volunteers. We operate without governmental support, relying instead on the generosity of the community through donations, sponsorships, and the success of our Thrift Store. We also proudly partner with other animal advocacy groups to expand our reach and help pets find the best possible outcomes.
