At Ozarks Kat and K9, our mission is to rescue, find loving homes for, and improve the lives of homeless dogs and cats in the Sunrise Beach area. We are dedicated to building a humane community that promotes compassion and strengthens the life-long bond between pets and their owners.
Founded in 1986, our organization began as the Society for the Treatment of Abandoned and Fractured Friends (S.T.A.F.F.) before evolving into Ozarks Kat and K9. As a 501(c)3 non-profit no-kill shelter, we rely entirely on the generosity of the public, grants, and our thrift store to support our vital animal care and community programs.
We serve our community by providing a safe shelter for stray, lost, or surrendered animals, ensuring every pet receives thorough veterinary evaluations, vaccinations, and microchipping before adoption. Beyond the shelter, we are proud to offer a low-cost spay and neuter assistance program, emergency vet bill support, and a pet food pantry to help keep beloved pets with their families.
We believe every animal deserves a second chance, and we take great care in matching each pet with a home that fits their unique personality and needs. Our thoughtful application process ensures that our animals are set up for success, encouraging responsible pet ownership and joyful, long-lasting partnerships.
Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or support our mission, we would love to meet you. Please visit our shelter in Sunrise Beach to meet your new best friend, or check out our adoptable animals online to begin your journey toward finding a wonderful new companion.
