City of Great Falls Animal Shelter

Our Mission

The City of Great Falls Animal Shelter is dedicated to protecting the health, safety, and welfare of our community’s domestic animals and citizens through education and responsible pet ownership. We believe that every adoptable animal deserves a path to a loving home.

A Commitment to Compassion

As the municipal shelter for the City of Great Falls, we serve our community by providing a safe, temporary home for stray and abandoned animals. We are proud of our commitment to our residents, working year-round to ensure that every animal receives quality care, including daily feeding, medical treatment, and behavioral support during their stay.

How We Care

Our shelter is a place of hope, not a final destination. We utilize a wide range of resources—including rescue partnerships and community adoption events—to ensure every adoptable animal finds their match. Through the dedicated efforts of our staff and volunteers, we do not euthanize animals due to space or length of stay, prioritizing the welfare of each individual pet we serve.

Building Lifelong Bonds

We believe that adoption is a joyful partnership that enriches both the pet and the adopter. We are committed to supporting you through the adoption process, ensuring you have the information needed to welcome a new furry friend into your life with confidence. By taking the time to find the right match, we help build strong, lasting relationships that thrive for years to come.
