York Adopt-A-Pet is a 501(c)3 non-profit sanctuary dedicated to providing a safe haven for the dogs and cats in our custody. We strive to find the best homes for our guests while educating the public on the importance of treating pets with dignity and love.
Located in York, Nebraska, we serve as a dedicated resource for the abused, lost, and abandoned animals of York County. Our goal is to reduce pet overpopulation and serve as a pillar of animal welfare, ensuring every animal receives the medical care, nutrition, and affection they deserve until they find their forever family.
We operate a physical shelter at 1511 N Platte Ave, where our small, dedicated staff and volunteers provide a warm, secure environment for our animals. By maintaining a balance between compassion and operational sustainability, we work tirelessly to ensure our shelter acts as a true bridge between a difficult past and a bright, loving future.
We believe that adoption is a joyful partnership, which is why we take great care in matching pets with the right families. Our adoption process is designed to be straightforward and helpful, ensuring that the transition into your home is as comfortable and happy as possible for both you and your new companion.
We invite you to discover your new family member by visiting us during our open hours on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday between 12:00 Noon and 3:00 PM. Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer your time, or provide essential supplies, your support helps us provide second chances to the many wonderful cats and dogs awaiting their forever homes.
