One Step Closer Animal Rescue (O.S.C.A.R.)
Our Mission
One Step Closer Animal Rescue, known as OSCAR, is dedicated to helping you find your new best friend. We are a no-kill dog rescue committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs who need a loving forever family.
Our Commitment to Care
Based in Sparta, New Jersey, we strive to provide every dog in our care with a safe and supportive path to a permanent home. Following a recent fire at our Andover shelter facility, we are deeply grateful to our community for their ongoing support. Our resilient team continues to prioritize the safety and well-being of our rescues, ensuring they remain in secure environments.
How We Operate
OSCAR functions through a compassionate model that emphasizes individual care. Whether through our shelter facility or our network of foster homes, we work tirelessly to meet the unique physical and behavioral needs of every dog. Our foster homes play a vital role in our mission, providing a stable and loving transition while we search for the perfect family for each pet.
Your Role in Our Journey
Adopting a pet is a life-changing decision, and we are here to support you in finding the right match for your lifestyle. We believe that every dog deserves a fresh start, and your choice to adopt directly changes a life forever. By bringing one of our rescues into your home, you become a hero in their story, helping them transition from a rescue dog to a beloved family member.
