Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center is dedicated to ending companion animal homelessness in Camden County through community awareness and responsible ownership. We are committed to providing a safe, compassionate haven for every animal that needs us.
Originally founded in 1997 as the Camden County Animal Shelter, we have grown into the largest open-admission shelter in New Jersey. We proudly serve 12 municipalities in Camden County, ensuring that abandoned, lost, or neglected animals receive the care and second chances they deserve.
As an open-admission facility, we provide quality medical care, food, housing, and love for thousands of animals each year. Our team operates a state-of-the-art facility featuring glass-walled acquaintance rooms and advanced veterinary surgical suites to ensure the highest standard of welfare. Beyond the shelter, our foster network extends this care into warm, loving homes, and our low-cost clinic helps keep local pets healthy.
We believe every dog or cat is an individual, and our team works hard to learn their unique personalities to find them the perfect forever home. When you adopt from us, you aren't just getting a pet; you are starting a partnership and helping us save more lives. Our staff is here to walk you through every step of the process, ensuring a smooth transition for both you and your new furry family member.
We are excited for you to grow your family and look forward to meeting you! Please visit our facility in Blackwood, view our available pets online, or reach out to our adoption team at 856-401-1300 ext. 102 to learn more about starting your journey toward adoption.
