Our Mission
NorthStar Pet Rescue is a New Jersey-based, 501(c)(3) volunteer organization dedicated to saving at-risk dogs from overcrowded shelters and finding them loving, safe forever homes. We believe every dog deserves a bright future and a chance to shine.
Our Story
Founded in 2017, NorthStar Pet Rescue emerged from a long-standing passion for animal welfare. Many of our team members have spent over a decade volunteering with other rescues, and we came together to form a group committed to operating with total transparency, ethical practices, and the highest standard of veterinary care.
How We Help
We operate as a volunteer-based, foster-focused rescue, saving dogs from areas—particularly in the South—where shelters are overburdened and resources are scarce. By working with a compassionate network of fosters and partners across the country, we provide these dogs with the medical care and transition time they need to thrive before they meet their new families.

Once you submit an application, our dedicated adoption coordinators guide you through the process, helping you find a companion whose personality fits your lifestyle. Whether your new friend is already in a local foster home or awaiting transport, we are here to support you every step of the way.
