Gloucester County Animal Shelter
Our Mission
The Gloucester County Animal Shelter is dedicated to serving our community by providing a safe, temporary haven for domestic animals while working to find them their forever homes. We are committed to promoting responsible pet ownership and building lasting, loving partnerships between pets and people.
Our History and Purpose
Established in 1990 in Clayton, our organization was created to address the growing needs of our local community. Over the decades, we have expanded our facility to include a dedicated adoption area and comprehensive care capabilities to ensure every animal receives the attention they deserve.
How We Care
Our facility is a vibrant center of care, featuring 64 kennel runs for dogs and 200 cat cages, all supported by a team of 29 dedicated employees. We provide essential animal control and shelter services, ensuring that every animal in our care is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed or neutered before heading to their new home. Our reach extends further through a robust foster program that allows us to provide specialized care for animals who need a little extra help, including kittens, puppies, and those recovering from illness.
The Adopter Connection
We believe that adoption is a joyful journey, and our dedicated team is here to help you find the perfect match for your family. By carefully considering your lifestyle and our animals' unique personalities, we create meaningful connections that last a lifetime. Whether you are looking for a playful puppy or a senior companion, we are here to support you every step of the way.
