Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue
Our Mission
Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue is dedicated to saving lives one day at a time by rescuing dogs and puppies from high-kill shelters. We are committed to making dreams come true for every animal that passes through our doors.
Our Story
Incorporated in June 2003, our all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization was founded to provide a second chance for abandoned pets in New Jersey. For over two decades, our community has worked tirelessly to address the urgent needs of vulnerable animals, ensuring each one receives the care and compassion they deserve.
How We Help
We operate as an all-breed, canine-only rescue, utilizing a network of temporary foster homes to provide a safe transition for our dogs. In June 2019, we expanded our capacity by purchasing our own facility in Cliffwood, New Jersey, which serves as a central hub for our operations and care efforts.
Finding Your Best Friend
Adoption is a joyful journey, and we are here to help you find the perfect match for your family. We encourage all potential adopters to explore our list of available dogs and review our fee schedule thoughtfully. By choosing to adopt, you are not just getting a new best friend; you are actively participating in saving a life.
Join Our Mission
Ready to make a difference? We invite you to view our available dogs and submit an adoption application to start the process today. Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer your time, or support our mission through donations, you are an essential part of the Castle of Dreams family.

10/16 - 💙 In honor of Pitbull Awareness Month, we’d like you to meet Sky! At 4 years old, Sky is a wonderful reminder that this breed deserves so much more than the reputation it often gets. She’s sweet, gentle, and loves getting affection and attention from her people. Sky has been failed by humans before. She was used for breeding and dumped at a shelter when her previous owners believed she could no longer have puppies. That’s a story for another day. More recently, Sky received an adoption application, and we were hopeful she’d found her people. Unfortunately, after checking with their landlord, the applicants learned they weren’t permitted to have a pitbull. It’s another reminder of the unfair obstacles dogs like Sky can face simply because of how they look. Today, we want to celebrate Sky for who she is and everything she deserves. She deserves a family who sees her for the wonderful dog she is, a safe place to call home, and a future filled with love. Sky is so much more than a label or a stereotype. She’s a girl with her own personality, so much love to give, and a second chance waiting to happen. 🐾 She’s 4 years old and ready to find her furever family. Could that be you? 📩 Reach out to Castle of Dreams Animal Rescue to learn more about adopting Sky. #PitbullAwarenessMonth #AdoptDontShop #AdoptSky #PitbullLove

10/12 - Watching Sky come out of her shell more and more in her foster home has been so much fun. ❤️ This girl is making progress, and it’s been amazing to see her confidence grow. Sky used to be wary of men, and now? She’s jumping right into the lap of a male visitor she just met! 🥹 She’s finally getting comfortable, decompressing, and showing us more and more of the amazing dog she’s been all along. Sky is a volunteer favorite, and it’s easy to see why. She just needs someone willing to give her the time and patience to settle in and let her personality shine. Whoever gets to have this girl by their side is going to be one lucky person. Sky is ready for her forever home. Could you be the one she’s been waiting for? 🐾❤️ #rescuedog #rescuepit #pitbull
