EASEL Animal Rescue League
Our Mission
EASEL Animal Rescue League is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to reducing the number of unwanted dogs and cats euthanized in Mercer County, NJ. We work tirelessly to ensure every animal receives the respect, care, and second chance they deserve.
A Vision for Compassion
Our organization was founded on the belief that the human-animal bond is a powerful force for good. We strive to create a community where every animal is guaranteed a healthy, indoor home or a safe habitat, guided by our commitment to no-kill principles and responsible pet ownership.
How We Make a Difference
Operating as a leader in the no-kill movement, we provide an integrated approach to animal welfare. Our work is powered by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, a robust foster network, and a physical adoption center in Ewing that serves as a bridge to permanent homes. We also provide critical community services, including behavior training, low-income assistance, and our successful Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program.
Your Perfect Match
We take the adoption process seriously because we are committed to lifetime commitments for our shelter pets. Our experienced adoption counselors take the time to understand your lifestyle, home environment, and preferences to ensure a harmonious bond between you and your new furry friend. Every pet adopted from us receives spay or neuter surgery, a microchip, and a comprehensive health evaluation to ensure they are ready for their new life with you.
Join Us as a Hero
Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or foster, you are the reason we succeed. We invite you to visit our adoption center at 4 Jake Garzio Drive in Ewing or join us at one of our upcoming adoption events to meet your new love. Together, we can change the world for every animal in need.

10/6 - If you’re looking for the happiest girl who also happens to be fun-sized, look no further than our Norma Jean! This adorable low-rider with her little legs is estimated to be about 5 years old and came to EASEL as a stray but was never reclaimed. Norma Jean’s body tells the story of having many, many litters in her past, but we’re happy to say those days are officially behind her—she’s been spayed and can now focus on being someone’s spoiled companion! Norma Jean loves everyone she meets and has absolutely thrived at adoption events. She recently underwent surgery to have a mass removed, and while we are still awaiting the biopsy results, she is feeling great and enjoying life. If your ideal companion is a happy, affectionate girl who wants to hang out on the couch, go for casual strolls, enjoy car rides, and simply be by your side, Norma Jean may be the one for you. Let’s find this sweet momma the home she deserves! Apply to adopt Norma Jean here: www.easelnj.org/application-dog/ Norma Jean is currently in foster, so an appointment is required to meet her.
