Rescue Ridge is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming stray, neglected, and abused animals. We believe that while saving one animal will not change the world, for that one animal, the world changes forever.
Since 2002, when founder Terry Willis rescued an emaciated horse named Ridge, we have served as a beacon of hope for animals in central New Jersey. We work tirelessly to support the community, helping other rescue organizations and pet owners in need through our dedicated network of volunteers.
Our animals come to us through various paths, including high-kill shelters, owner surrenders due to financial or housing challenges, or cases of abandonment. We provide a safe, loving environment for these animals, utilizing a foster-based model that allows our rescues to thrive while they wait for their forever homes. Every individual in our care receives the attention and rehabilitation they need to prepare for a successful adoption.
We believe that finding the perfect pet is one of life's best experiences, and we are committed to making that connection a lasting success. Our thorough adoption process focuses on understanding your unique lifestyle, experience, and family dynamic to ensure a wonderful match for both you and your new companion. We are here to guide you through this transition, ensuring every family member is ready for the exciting journey ahead.
Whether you are ready to adopt, interested in becoming a foster caregiver, or want to join our volunteer team, there are many ways to make a difference. We invite you to browse our available animals or attend one of our upcoming adoption events to meet your new best friend. Together, we can provide these deserving animals with the second chance they truly deserve.
