Husky House is dedicated to the rescue, shelter, care, and adoption of stray, abandoned, and unwanted animals in the Tri-State area. We strive to provide every dog with a second chance in life and the loving home they so richly deserve.
Founded by Lorraine Healy, Husky House is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization committed to helping all breeds of dogs, including Siberian Huskies and mixed breeds. Beyond individual rescues, we are passionate about educating the public on the importance of proper pet care and the critical role of spaying and neutering to ensure the well-being of dogs and cats alike.
We believe in providing a safe, comfortable, and professional environment for the animals in our care. Our team of hard-working volunteers and experienced staff provides dedicated, round-the-clock attention to our residents. Through our specialized initiatives, such as the Snowdog Lodge, we generate vital support that goes directly toward the medical, housing, and nutritional needs of our homeless dogs while they wait for their forever families.
We take great care to ensure that every adoption is a lasting, joyful partnership. Our team works closely with prospective adopters through a thoughtful screening process, including phone interviews and home visits, to ensure that each dog is matched with a home that fits their individual personality and needs. We are proud to see our rescues thrive once they find their place in a new, permanent home.
