Salem County Humane Society
Our Mission
The Salem County Humane Society is dedicated to providing a safe haven for homeless dogs and cats, working tirelessly to connect every animal with a loving, permanent home.
Opening Our Hearts
We operate as a no-kill shelter located in Carneys Point, New Jersey, serving the local community as a strictly non-profit organization. We do not receive local, state, or federal government funding; instead, we rely entirely on the generosity of donations, fundraisers, and the dedication of our 100% volunteer staff.
Our Care Model
Our facility provides comprehensive care for animals who are unwanted, abandoned, or abused, regardless of their age or health status. Every animal receives essential veterinary care, including spaying or neutering, while our volunteers provide daily exercise, socialization, and loving companionship. For those who may not find a new family, our shelter acts as their permanent home, where they are surrounded by the care and attention of our volunteers.
Your Adoption Journey
We believe that finding your perfect companion should be a thoughtful, joyful partnership. Our adoption process is designed to ensure a smooth transition for both you and your new pet, featuring a helpful home visit that allows us to share information and advice to set you both up for success. By choosing to adopt, you are not just getting a pet; you are providing a second chance to a deserving animal.
