Our Mission
Southern Paws Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue dedicated to advocating for the voiceless and offering hope to the hopeless. Guided by our motto, Teamwork makes the Dream work, we strive to build bridges to better lives for dogs in need.
Our History
Founded in 2013 and based in Northern New Jersey, we have been rescuing and homing dogs for over a decade. Since 2014, our small, dedicated foster-based rescue has saved more than 5,000 dogs through collaboration with fellow rescues and a passionate team of volunteers.
How We Operate
We primarily utilize a pre-adoption program where we collaborate with rescue groups across the United States to save dogs facing euthanasia due to overpopulation. Once approved, our dogs are transported to New Jersey, where they receive a 24–48 hour monitoring period to ensure they are safe, comfortable, and healthy before joining their forever families.
