Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary is dedicated to seeking permanent, responsible homes for abandoned cats and dogs. We provide a compassionate, no-kill environment for these animals while promoting humane principles and behavior in our community.
Our History
Founded in 1996, our organization was created by a group of animal lovers in the Las Cruces area who envisioned a sanctuary modeled after the nation's leading no-kill facilities. For over 30 years, we have proudly served abandoned pets, remaining a private, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies entirely on the generosity of our community.
Our Approach
Located just outside Las Cruces, our three-acre sanctuary features a cattery, dog kennels, isolation units, and play areas to ensure our animals are treated with love and respect. As a no-kill center, we provide shelter for abused and abandoned animals, as well as those whose owners can no longer care for them, offering them a dignified place to live until they find their perfect match.
