Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York

Our Mission

Our mission is simple: to alleviate suffering, improve conditions, and prevent cruelty to animals. We are here to make life better for animals and the people who love them by keeping pets safe, healthy, and cherished.

Our History and Our Community

Founded in 1896 in Auburn, New York, we began with a single horse-drawn wagon and a vision of a more humane world. Today, we remain a fully independent humane society dedicated to serving Cayuga County and the surrounding areas with kindness, compassion, and honesty.

How We Make a Difference

We are more than a shelter; we are a vital resource for our community. Whether we are providing medical care, low-cost spay and neuter services, or supporting families through our C.A.R.E program to help keep pets in their homes, we focus on strengthening the bond between animals and their people.

Connecting Pets and People

Adopting a pet is a big, joyful decision, and we are committed to guiding you every step of the way. Our team works hard to get to know you and your lifestyle so we can help you find a perfect match that will thrive in your home for years to come.
