Volunteers for Animals
Our Mission
Volunteers For Animals of Batavia is dedicated to providing care, comfort, and protection to companion animals in need by engaging the hands, hearts, and minds of our community. We believe in promoting compassion, kindness, and clear opportunities for every animal to find a loving home.
Serving Genesee County Since 1984
For over forty years, we have worked under one roof with the Genesee County Animal Shelter to save lives and support local animals. We are a non-profit organization committed to providing essential resources and assistance to ensure the well-being of the pets in our care.
How We Help
Our dedicated volunteers assist with the daily needs of animals at the shelter, including medical care, cleaning, and administrative support. Beyond the shelter walls, we manage several vital initiatives, such as our low-cost spay and neuter voucher program, kitten foster coordination, and our rescue dog program. By partnering with local community members and businesses, we work together to limit the stray population and provide education on responsible pet ownership.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
Adopting a shelter pet is a rewarding journey that changes two lives: the animal you bring home and the one who takes their place in our care. We encourage you to visit our facility to meet our wonderful dogs and cats, each waiting for a second chance. Our team is here to support you in finding a match that fits your lifestyle, ensuring a lasting and joyful partnership for both you and your new best friend.
Join Us in Making a Difference
We invite you to be part of our mission by exploring our adoptable pets or attending our monthly general membership meetings via Zoom. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer your time, or donate to support our medical and foster programs, your involvement helps us continue our vital work. Please contact us today to learn how you can help us speak up for the animals of Genesee County.
