Our Mission
Volunteers For Animals of Batavia, Inc. is dedicated to providing care, comfort, and protection to companion animals in need throughout Genesee County, NY. By engaging the hands, hearts, and minds of our community, we strive to promote compassion, kindness, and successful adoptions for every animal in our care.
Our History and Commitment
Since 1984, we have worked under one roof with the Genesee County Animal Shelter to save lives and support animal welfare. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we provide critical resources and support to help the municipal shelter meet the needs of our local animals, ensuring they receive the care they deserve while awaiting their forever homes.
How We Help
Our dedicated volunteers assist with the daily care of stray and lost animals, provide essential medical funding, and coordinate kitten foster care programs. Beyond the shelter, we manage low-cost spay and neuter voucher programs, operate an off-site feline adoption location at Batavia Petco, and lead the Path to Home dog training program. Our work is powered entirely by the community, with 94% of every donation going directly toward veterinary care and support services.
