Animal Rescue Foundation
Our Mission
The Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) is a 100% volunteer, no-kill, non-profit organization in Beacon, NY, dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and finding loving forever homes for cats and dogs. Our mission is fueled by a deep-seated love for animals and a tireless commitment to improving their lives every single day.
A Legacy of Compassion
Founded by Barbara Shea nearly 40 years ago, ARF has rescued thousands of animals since 1986. Her legacy of service remains the heart of our shelter, providing a safe haven for those without a voice, the unwanted, and the homeless.
Our Compassionate Care
Our facility, a repurposed building granted by the City of Beacon, is designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment for the animals in our care. We feature free-roam cat rooms, dog kennels with access to outdoor runs, and expansive grounds that include a large fenced-in yard and a wooded trail along Fishkill Creek. Every animal receives consistent love and care from our devoted volunteers, ensuring they are well-socialized while waiting for their perfect match.
Finding Your Perfect Companion
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and our coordinators work closely with potential adopters to ensure the best possible fit for both family and pet. By reviewing applications thoughtfully and facilitating meet-and-greets, we prioritize the needs of each individual animal. We believe that every pet deserves a family where they will be cherished as a lifelong member, whether they are a playful kitten or a wise senior dog.
