Our Mission
Badass Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to saving and rehabilitating loving, adoptable dogs from high-kill shelters. Since 2011, we have worked tirelessly to find forever homes for over 4,000 dogs, ensuring each pup gets the second chance they deserve.
Why We Do It
We are a Brooklyn-based team of volunteers focused on saving the most at-risk dogs from underserved communities in the rural American south and the U.S. Virgin Islands. We believe that every dog, regardless of breed, age, size, or medical history, is deserving of a safe and loving home.
How We Operate
Badass Animal Rescue does not have a physical shelter space; instead, we rely entirely on a network of compassionate foster families. This foster-based model ensures that our rescue dogs receive the care, training, and socialization they need within a home environment before meeting their permanent families. Every dog receives comprehensive veterinary care, including spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and essential medical treatments before being cleared for adoption.

By taking the time to understand each dog's unique needs, we match them with households that provide the best environment for their long-term success.
