Kent Animal Shelter Inc.
Our Mission
Kent Animal Shelter serves as a dedicated no-kill haven for homeless, abused, and abandoned animals. We provide a safe, loving sanctuary until every pet can be matched with a permanent, forever home.
Our History and Community
Nearly a half century ago, a group of compassionate humanitarians established Kent as a private, nonprofit humane society. Today, we continue to fulfill that original vision, serving as a pillar of support for animals in crisis and a trusted resource for pet care within our community.
Our Care Model
Kent is much more than a shelter; we are a community dedicated to life-saving care. Located on scenic property near the Peconic River, our facility features a professional staff, dedicated kennel and cattery spaces, and an on-site clinic. We provide every animal with medical attention, including life-saving surgeries, vaccinations, and microchipping to ensure they are healthy, happy, and ready for their next chapter.
The Adopter Connection
Adopting a pet is a beautiful journey toward creating a new family bond. Our team is committed to transparency and care, ensuring that every adoption is handled with kindness and expertise. By choosing to adopt, you become a vital part of our mission to give these deserving animals the second chance they truly deserve.

With the right person by his side, we know Banana has so much love to give. He deserves a home where he can learn that he is safe, loved, and finally has someone he can trust.
