CNY SNAP is a dedicated, volunteer-run, non-profit organization committed to creating a positive impact in our community by addressing cat and dog overpopulation. We believe in building a future where every animal finds a safe and loving environment.
Established in 2005, we are a grassroots organization serving Upstate New York. Since our inception, we have successfully spayed or neutered more than 58,000 dogs and cats, providing vital low-cost services to low-income residents and caretakers of barn and feral cat colonies.
We operate as a 100% volunteer-run organization, managing our adoption program through our Cortland shelter and our partnership with the PetSmart in DeWitt. Every cat and kitten in our care receives comprehensive medical attention, including vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, and microchipping, ensuring they are healthy and ready for their next chapter.
Adopting from CNY SNAP is a thoughtful, personalized experience designed to help you find the perfect feline companion. Our adoption coordinators work closely with every prospective family to ensure a wonderful match for both the cat and your home, fostering lifelong bonds built on trust and care.
Whether you are looking to open your heart to a new furry friend or interested in supporting our mission, there are many ways to get involved. We invite you to visit our adoptable cats during visiting hours, explore volunteer opportunities at our Cortland facility, or learn more about how you can contribute to our life-saving work. Together, we can make a lasting difference for animals in Central New York.
