Catskill Animal Rescue C.A.R.E.
Our Mission
Catskill Animal Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to saving homeless, abused, and abandoned animals. We are committed to protecting animals through the enforcement of humane laws and providing a safe, loving environment for those in need.
Our Story
Founded by Joanne Gerow in her personal barn in 2014, CARe has grown from a humble start into a vital resource for Sullivan County. Driven by a lifelong passion for animal welfare, our organization evolved to meet community needs, culminating in the 2019 opening of our state-of-the-art animal care facility in Ferndale, New York.
How We Provide Care
We operate out of a modern, donor-funded facility that provides comprehensive medical care and shelter for our residents. All our adoptable animals receive health evaluations, are spayed or neutered, and are kept up-to-date on vaccinations before heading to their forever homes. By partnering with local law enforcement and municipal agencies, we ensure every animal in our care receives the professional attention and protection they deserve.
The Perfect Match
We believe that successful adoptions are built on thoughtful, personal connections rather than a first-come, first-served process. Our team takes the time to review every application to ensure we find the best possible fit for both the animal and your family. We are here to guide you through the process, ensuring you feel confident and supported as you prepare to welcome a new companion into your life.
