HEART Animal Rescue & Adoption Team is dedicated to alleviating the suffering of neglected, injured, orphaned, sick, or abused animals in Western New York. We believe every animal deserves a second chance and the opportunity to live a high-quality life in a loving, permanent home.

Since our formation in 1984, HEART has saved the lives of thousands of animals. As an all-volunteer, non-profit, no-kill organization, we operate solely on the generosity of our community to advocate for the underdog, whether they are friendly or feral.

HEART utilizes a compassionate foster-based model where animals receive care in loving home environments until they are ready for their next chapter. Once healthy and prepared, these animals transition to our Adoption Center in Hamburg, where they wait to meet their forever families. We prioritize the needs of the animals, ensuring that those in the most urgent situations receive the attention and medical care they require.
