Welcome to Pet Rescue, a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization founded in 1982 by passionate volunteers seeking to improve the lives of homeless, abandoned, or neglected dogs and cats. Our mission is clear: to nurture these animals in the loving care of our volunteers, provide necessary veterinary treatments, and ultimately place them in permanent, responsible homes. Over the past 40+ years, we have remained committed to our no-kill policy, which reflects our unwavering respect for all lives. Our facility located in Harrison, NY features an onsite clinic, a kennel for our dogs, and a cozy extensive space for adult cats called “Kitty Cottage.” Many of our furry friends benefit from the loving environment provided by our dedicated foster volunteers, ensuring that they receive the love and socialization they need until adopted. At Pet Rescue, we believe that every animal deserves a second chance. We rescue dogs and cats from a variety of challenging circumstances, including owners unable to care for them and those from kill shelters. Many of these animals arrive in need of medical attention, which is addressed by our veterinary team to ensure they are healthy and ready for their forever homes. Our organization thrives through the generous support of donors and the tireless efforts of volunteers. We are committed to maintaining transparency regarding our operations and the impact of every contribution made. Through various giving programs including our General Fund, Healing Paws, and Food Drive, we ensure that our dogs and cats receive not only shelter but also nutrition and medical care.
