Buffalo C.A.R.E.S. Animal Rescue
Our Mission
Buffalo C.A.R.E.S. Animal Rescue is an all-breed, volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating the placement of homeless animals into loving, permanent homes. We work tirelessly to provide a safe, supported path for animals from shelters, puppy mills, and owner surrenders to find the families they deserve.
Driven by Compassion
Our rescue was born when a group of people came together to honor their beloved pets, Evan and Snoopy, by saving the lives of animals who have been abused, neglected, or forgotten. We believe in the power of community, and our name, C.A.R.E.S.—which stands for Companion Animal Rescue for Evan & Snoopy—serves as a constant tribute to the bond we share with our animals.
Our Foster-Based Approach
We are a foster-based rescue, meaning our animals reside in private, loving homes rather than in a facility. This environment allows our volunteers to provide essential veterinary care, training, and socialization, ensuring each animal develops into a well-balanced family companion. While we have a resource center in Kenmore, NY, it is not used to house animals, as we prioritize the comfort and individual attention of home-based fostering.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe that adoption is a joyful partnership, and our screened process is designed to place every companion in the most compatible home possible. By conducting thoughtful home visits and meet-and-greets, we ensure that both your family and your new pet are set up for a lifetime of happiness. We also serve as a resource for the community, providing information on the importance of spaying, neutering, and microchipping.
