Our Mission
NYC Second Chance Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating critically injured, neglected, and high-risk animals. We believe that every pet deserves a second chance, and we work tirelessly to ensure they find the loving, permanent homes they deserve because, quite simply, they matter.
Our Journey
Established in 2009, our organization was born out of a deep passion for animal welfare and a commitment to address the crisis in municipal shelters. Since our inception, we have successfully saved over 17,000 lives, concentrating our efforts on large-breed dogs and cats who often face the greatest challenges in finding safety.
Our Care Model
We operate as a foster-based organization, complemented by our dedicated Adoption Center in Long Island City, which opened in 2023. This dual-approach allows us to provide a healing, safe sanctuary for pets while offering them a supportive environment where they can decompress and showcase their true, unique personalities to potential adopters.
