Pets Alive
Our Mission
Pets Alive is dedicated to building a humane community that supports the vital human-animal bond. We achieve this by acting as a comprehensive resource through dedicated rescue, adoption, intervention, education, and outreach programs.
Our Story
Established in 1988, Pets Alive began as a sanctuary born from a singular, life-changing rescue of a golden retriever named Brandy. That history of compassion continues today as we proudly serve as one of the oldest no-kill organizations in the United States, providing a safe haven in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains.
How We Care
Located in Middletown, NY, our facility functions as an active, state-of-the-art rescue and adoption center. We provide specialized, loving care for dogs, cats, horses, and various farm animals, many of whom arrive with unique medical or behavioral needs that require our dedicated team's full attention.
Your Adoption Journey
We believe that every adoption is the beginning of a beautiful, lifelong partnership. Our compassionate staff and volunteers work closely with you to ensure every match is thoughtful and tailored to your lifestyle, helping our animals find the perfect forever homes they deserve.
