Humane Society of Schuyler County
Our Mission
The Humane Society of Schuyler County is dedicated to advancing the welfare of animals and promoting responsible pet ownership in our community. We are committed to providing quality care for homeless animals until they find their forever homes.
Our History
Since 1987, we have served as the only no-kill, full-service animal welfare organization in Schuyler County. Our journey is powered by the dedication of our members, volunteers, and the generous support of friends who share our vision for a safe and happy future for every animal.
Our Care Model
We believe every animal deserves a comfortable, high-standard environment while they wait for their new families. Our state-of-the-art facility features large, sunlit kennels for dogs and cozy, home-like communal spaces for cats, all designed to reduce stress. We also maintain a vital foster program, allowing younger or recovering animals to thrive in nurturing home environments until they are ready for their next chapter.
The Adopter Connection
At the Humane Society, we view every animal as an individual, not just a number. Our adoption process is focused on creating the perfect, lasting match between your lifestyle and a new companion's unique personality. We take the time to get to know each animal, ensuring you feel confident, informed, and prepared when you welcome your new best friend home.
Find Your New Best Friend
